MANILA, Philippines – Officials of Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have been asked to attend the hearing on Friday, March 7 about the increase in jeepney fare by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
On the first hearing of LTFRB, the Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization (ACTO) has asked if the Skyway Stage 3 project will affect the main jeepney routes in Manila. ACTO members also asked about the effect of the four-day work week on the income of jeepney drivers.
ACTO has previously said that the approval of the four-day work week can cause a P50 to P100 reduction in a driver’s income.
In a previous meeting with the MMDA, the LTFRB gave the assurance that work on the infrastructure project will not affect the main routes of public utility vehicles, particularly jeepneys.
