(Eagle News) — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Wednesday said it would hold a one-week dry run for the implementation of the High Occupancy Vehicle lane on Edsa.
In a Facebook post, the MMDA said the dry run will start on Monday, December 11, at 6 a.m.
Under the scheme that is being tested, vehicles with two or more passengers are required to use the leftmost lane or the HOV lane on Edsa.
Motorcycles may use the HOV lane and the motorcycle lane or the third lane from the Metro Rail Transit.
Private car drivers with no companion “can still use the motorcycle lane (2nd) and third lane from the MRT (Metro Rail Transit),” the MMDA said.
The agency said violators will be meted out a P500 fine and will be “apprehended” through the no-contact apprehension policy.
