(Eagle News) — Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson was awarded the Thomasian Alumni Award for Government Service by the University of Santo Tomas on Sunday.
In a statement, UST said those recognized apart from Uson were Senator Joel Villanueva, Rep. Jose Atienza Jr., Senate Secretary General Lutgardo Barbo, Rep. Joaquin Chipeco Jr., National Labor Relations Commissioner Mary Ann Plata-Daytia, Rep. Eugene Michael de Vera, Court of Appeals Justice Myra Fernandez, Rep. Marlyn Alonte-Naguiat, Rep. Abigail Faye Ferriol-Pascual, Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier and Trade Secretary Ramon Nolasco.
Rep. Emi Calixto-Rubiano, Rep. Frederick Siao, Rep. Jose Tejada, Rep. Lord Allan Jay Velasco, Rep. Tom Villarin, Rep. Rosenda Ann Ocampo and Intramuros Administration Administrator Guiller Asido were also recognized.
According to UST, the recipients came from the House, the Senate, the judiciary and the executive.
“In contrast to the Outstanding Thomasian Alumni Leadership Awards which is the highest award bestowed by the university, TAGS, initiated by the UST Alumni Association, is envisioned to inspire and challenge the recipients to lead the Thomasian core values of compassion, competence and commitment,” UST said.
UST said the “sole criteria are for the recipients to be a graduate of (UST) and in government service.”
