Monsoon rains to persist: PAGASA

(Eagle News) — Monsoon rains will prevail in the Philippines today, Aug. 5.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Abra, Batanes and Babuyan Islands will experience those conditions as the southwest monsoon continues to affect the country.

Flash floods or landslides during scattered to widespread moderate to at times heavy rains are possible.

Metro Manila, the rest of Ilocos Region, rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country, the weather bureau said, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Mindanao, on the other hand, will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
