(Eagle News) — More camera angles, but less of the controversial low-angle shots will be seen in President Rodrigo Duterte’s second State of the Nation Address (SONA) which will once again be directed by award-winning director Brillante Mendoza.

Mendoza will use 18 cameras placed in strategic locations inside the session hall of Batasang Pambansa.

He said there will be more dramatic lighting, and more angles but the director had already been asked to lessen the low-angled shots for which he had been heavily criticized before.

“Ang sabi lang nila kung pwedeng maiwasan na yung masyadong low-angle,” Mendoza said in a television interview.

His SONA direction will be simpler, he said, and he will also use some photos of the President’s past activities during the SONA.

Mendoza was named as Best Director at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival for his film “Kinatay.” He also won the “Best Film” award for the 2009 movie “Lola” at the 6th Dubai International Film Festival.
