In the ongoing investigations of the Senate Blue Committee, whistleblower Ruby Tuason gave details that served as proof against Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s involvement in the said scam. It was in year 2004 that the first transaction was made with the senator, Tuason said. She said she was the one who personally delivered the P5.7 million in kickbacks of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada in his house in Greenhills, San Juan, from his P37.5 million funded project. After two weeks, she said the senator returned the commission although his funded project had pushed through. She said actor Mat Ranillo also served as Estrada’s middleman. She said she also saw transaction records, particularly accounting records of whistleblower Benhur Luy, wherein Estrada through his staff, Pauline Labayen, received P11.97 million. It was in the house of former First Lady Loi Ejercito’s chief of staff Justa Tantoco where money changed hands, Tuason said.
