QUEZON City, Philippines – More than 22,000 men were arrested in the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign. In the report made by Police Chief Supt. Augusto Marquez of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management of the Philippine National Police, he said 2,066 were killed in the operations, 1,375 of which were due to legitimate police operations where the suspects resisted arrest and fought with the police. All in all, 22,474 were arrested by the police in its anti-illegal drug operations.
