QUEZON City, Philippines – The Senior High School (SHS) program records 1.5 million students enrolled for the academic year 2016 – 2017 with 54, 000 returnees or “balik-aral” students.
This is in stark contrast with the objections of those against the K-12 program that many students will not push through with their education due to the additional two years of basic education.
Many of the “balik-aral” students finished fourth year high school way back in 2006 and still chose to pursue senior high school as they aspire for better opportunities.
