(Eagle News) — The Metro Rail Transit 3 has released a list of liquids that it said would be allowed in its trains.
Below is the list:
- Baby formula or breast milk in bottles, if the passenger is traveling with a baby or small child
- Drinking water to be used by the baby or small child
- All prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Liquids including water, juice and liquid nutrition or gels for passenger with a disability of life-threatening condition
- Life-support and life-sustaining liquids such as bone marrow, blood products and those for transplant organs
- Items used to augment the body and for medical and cosmetics reasons such as mastectomy products, bras or shells containing gels, saline solution, or other liquids
- Gels or frozen liquids needed to cool disability or medical-related items used by persons with disabilities or medical conditions.
According to the MRT3, those items that are not on the list are still banned.
It noted that nitroglycerin’s “inherent instability” would make lotion or shampoo bottles where it can be concealed “very dangerous for you to carry around.”
Banned items that were confiscated upon entry, the MRT3 said, can still be claimed upon exit, with proper verification by the station supervisor and upon presentation of a form of identification.
The MRT3 said these rules apply only to their trains and not to the Light Rail Transit and the Philippine National Railway that have their own security measures.
“We do not want to be lax on our security measures across all transport sectors so as to ensure the safety and security of our passengers,” Transportation Assistant Secretary Goddess Hope Libiran said.
