MRT-3 starts inspection and maintenance work; LRT, PNR to also conduct system checks on March 29

METRO MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) on Wednesday, March 28 stopped its operation to start its annual general maintenance of trains.

In its advisory, the MRT-3 said that it will suspend operations until Sunday, April 1. It will resume operations on Monday, April 2.

The move is to give way to their general maintenance activities as the mass rail system aims to deploy 15 trains after the long holiday.

MRT-3 Director for Operations Mike Capati led the inspection and maintenance works of rail tracks.
Representatives from the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Joint Advisory Panel also joined the inspection.

Meanwhile, the LRT 1, LRT-2, and the Philippine National Railways will start its system maintenance on Thursday, March 29.

The Philippine National Railways will resume its operation on Sunday, April 1 except for Bicol Commuter train that will resume on Monday, April 2.

The LRT 1 and LRT 2 will also resume its normal operations on Monday, April 2.
