Muslim community fears delay of BBL passage following death of MILF vice-chair’s brother

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Muslim community expressed fears that the passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law will once again be delayed after the death of Mohaimen Abo, also known as “Boy Bangsamoro.”

Boy Bangsamoro is a member of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces and is the younger brother of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front’s Vice-Chairman Ghadzali Jaafar.

Boy Bangsamoro was killed during a police operation in Barangay Linangcob, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.  According to the MILF, the government did not coordinate with them when they arrested him.

The MILF is asking the Philippine government to investigate Abo’s killing. Abo is supposedly covered by previously agreed government-MILF security protocols.
