MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) — Just one week.
That’s the time given by the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) within which it would finish its investigation of the five generals tagged by President Duterte in the illegal drug operations
NAPOLCOM Vice Chair Rogelio Casurao said that after one week, they would know whether to proceed with summary dismissal proceedings for the three active Philippine National Police generals named by the President in his speech during the 69th anniversary of the Philippine Air Force.
“We are assuring now the public that the investigation to be conducted by the NAPOLCOM is going to be a [straightforward] investigation… In fact, the directive given to the investigation team is they should complete the investigation within 7 days, and then after that we will go into the summary dismissal proceedings,” Casurao said.
He said the entire process of summary dismissal proceedings, should be completed within a month.
Casurao said they are currently validating the alleged evidence against the generals.
The three active top police officials tagged by the President — namely former National Capital Region Police Office Director Joel Pagdilao, former Quezon City Police District Director Chief Supt. Edgardo Tinio, and former Western Visayas regional director Chief Supt. Bernardo Diaz — have already reported to the office of PNP Chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa in Camp Crame to personally deny the allegations against them.
The two other retired police generals — PNP Deputy Director General Marcelo Garbo Jr., and Daanbantayan, Cebu Mayor Vicente Loot — have also separately issued their denials in media interviews.
