(ATLANTA) – With the second half of the season already underway, the 4th and 5th seeded teams in the Eastern Conference, both have the first round of playoffs in their sights. It was an intense match-up as the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Toronto Raptors in front of their home crowd . Point Guard Dennis Schroder led the charge for Atlanta with 26 points and 5 assists along with Paul Millsap, with his 21 points and 6 rebounds .
After the game, coach Mike Budenholzer credited great defense by the front court. He also acknowledged Schroder’s great ball handling skills. “I think there’s lots of things between Paul and Dennis that they create situations for us”, he says.
As for Schroder, it was another big night, as he was able to score 20+ points in a consecutive game. He credited the team and great offense. “It was a great win. They were right in front of us, and we did a great job.” Schroder said.
Not only did Atlanta solidify the season series with this win against Toronto, but they would be given homecourt advantage, if the playoffs were to start today. Now, can the Atlanta hawks continue their momentum going into the playoffs? We will just have to wait and see.
