It was a Hollywood ending for Meta World Peace in what could be his final game at The Staples Center. World Peace, who has seen limited minutes throughout the course of the season, erupted for 18 points in what was his best performance in many years.

With this victory, The Lakers have extended their winning streak to five games, the most since 2011-2012 season.  Coach Alvin Gentry chose to sit his all star big men, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, for another game. The young Lakers were able to take advantage of the depleted Pelicans and finished the game with a score of 108 to 96.

This win is bittersweet as it decreases the chances of The Lakers keeping their lottery pick. However, the players are adamant that their main focus is to win.

The Lakers finish the season against Steph Curry and The Golden State Warriors in Oakland Wednesday night.
