WASHINGTON, United States (AFP) — The NBA fined Washington Wizards guard John Wall $25,000 on Wednesday for bumping into official Marc Davis during a game against the Houston Rockets on Monday.
The Wizards were trailing 111-106 with less than a minute to play when Wall, making his way toward the bench, brushed Davis with one side of his body. He was promptly handed a second technical foul of the contest and ejected.
Davis said after the game that Wall was ejected “for inappopriate language and using vulgarity toward a game official.”
Davis said that after Wall bumped him he wasn’t sure of his intent, but when he told the player to watch himself, Wall responded with a verbal outburst. The Wizards lost the game 114-106.
“Washington Wizards guard John Wall has been fined $25,000 for inappropriate interaction with a game official and failing to leave the court in a timely manner following his ejection,” NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Kiki VanDeWeghe said.
