NDRRMC issues ‘blue alert’ status due to super typhoon “Ineng”

MANILA, Philippines, August 19 (Eagle News) — The National Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) on Tuesday evening issued a ‘blue alert’ status after super typhoon “Ineng” entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to NDRRMC Executive Director Alexander Pama, all units in different areas were prepared and in stand by to monitor the weather.

The ‘blue alert’ had take effect on Tuesday, August 18 at 6:00 pm were typhoon “Ineng” entered the PAR.

Pama also said that all personnel of the agency were ordered to stand by to monitor the condition of the weather.

 

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services, typhoon “Ineng” maintained its strength and continues to move westward.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northwest to west over Northern and Central Luzon And coming from the southwest to west will prevail over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.

Meanwhile, estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 600 km diameter of the typhoon.

On the other hand, enhanced “Habagat” currently affecting Palawan and Visayas, occasional rains over the western section of Luzon including Metro Manila possible beginning Thursday until early next week.
