Net satisfaction w/ drug war at “very good;” 70% see government serious about addressing EJKs

(Eagle News) — Net satisfaction with the administration’s campaign against illegal drugs remains high, with 70 percent saying the government was “serious” about solving the problem of extra-judicial killings in the country.

According to results from the latest Social Weather Stations survey, 78 percent were satisfied with the drug war, which only recently resumed following the kidnap-slay of Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo reportedly by rogue policemen who used the war as an excuse to commit the crime.

Based on the results of the survey done from March 25 to 28, only 10 percent were undecided, while 12% were dissatisfied.

According to SWS, the figures translate to a net satisfaction rating of +66, which it classifies as “very good.”

The March 2017 survey also found 70% found the administration serious about solving the problem of EJK in the country.

This is similar to the 70% result in the SWS survey released in December last year.

The SWS survey consisted of face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide, with 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Sampling error margins were pegged at ±3% for national percentages, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
