Police have earlier disputed claims on numbers of alleged extrajudicial killings in the Philippine drug war, as they stressed that more than one million drug suspects have already surrendered, while more than 4,000 had been arrested. Both groups will also undergo drug rehabilitation and treatment in the government’s detention centers. Based on the police records, as of December 31, 2016, a total of 1,007,153 drug personalities have yielded to the authorities since July 1 to date.
