QUEZON City, Philippines – The 17th Congress of the Philippines under incoming President Rodrigo Duterte is free to push the Php 2000 increase in the Social Security Systems pension for retired government workers.
This was according to Presidential Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma. He said it is the prerogative of lawmakers to push the increase for government pensioners if the present Congress fails to override the veto made by President Benigno Aquino III regarding the proposed increase.
