QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) placed the entire island of Luzon under yellow alert.
According to the NGCP, there is a limited electricity reserve in Luzon and that system has only 9, 971 megawatts capacity there
This was due to the unexpected shutdown of several power plants.
Under a yellow alert, the grid has thin reserves based on the supply and demand of power in the area.
This is the first yellow alert raised in the region this year.
