QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — No one should be blamed for the problems faced by the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea.
This is according to University of the Philippines professor, Dr. Jay Batongbacal, who is also the director of the Institute of Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea of UP College of Law.
“Walang mangyayari kung magsisihan lang tayo dito habang yung kabilang panig ay patuloy pa rin yung pagmamatigas sa pagco-consolidate ng kanilang hold in the area,” he said.
Instead, he said the government should find solutions to the territorial issues the country is facing.
He said China’s actions in the West Philippine Sea should prompt the government to look for possible actions to be taken with regard to the territorial dispute.
