OFW group declares “no remittance day”

MANILA, Philippines, August 26 (Eagle News) — Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) group Migrante said that they will hold a “no remittance day” on August 28 as a protest against the random inspection policy that was almost implemented by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) against balikbayan boxes.

Although the policy did not push through, Migrante believes that the fight of the OFW over the issue is not over as the BOC continues to look for ways to increase its revenues.
