Thousands of Filipino temporary workers would be sent home this April due to the four-year rule implemented by the Canadian government.
Since 2011 Canada had implemented the said law which allows temporary foreign workers (TFWS) to work for four years. Under the law, they could not return to Canada in the next four years.
TFWs could only ask for an extension if the provincial government they are residing in would request for it.
The Canadian government also warns that they will enforce punitive action against those who will go underground or will flout immigration laws.
