Ombudsman asks SC to deny CGMA’s house arrest petition

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales asked the Supreme Court to deny the petition for house arrest filed by former President and now Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. According to Morales, said petition is against the Constitution, in particular the equal protection clause. She also added that the former president committed forum-shopping because other than the house arrest petition filed with the SC, Arroyo also filed a bail petition at the Sandiganbayan.
