(Eagle News)– The Liberal Party on Saturday urged millennials to “be like Rizal.”
In a statement on Rizal Day, the party said millennials should “work for a better Philippines, free of poverty and fear, and where justice and solidarity reign.”
“Even up to the time he was executed at 35 for expressing the idea that everyone has inherent, inalienable rights, Rizal inspired Filipinos to believe that they were capable of ruling themselves,” the party said.
According to LP, at the age of 25, Rizal, the “ultimate millennial,” published “Noli Me Tangere,” which reflects the values of Filipino society.
At 30 years old, the party said Rizal released “El Filibusterismo,” which it said provided “societal cures.”
“He used his time and talents to show his love of country,” the LP said.
