One man pulled out alive 67 hours after massive Shenzhen landslide

One man was pulled out alive early Wednesday morning, 67 hours after a massive landslide hit China’s southern city of Shenzhen.

The newly found survivor is confirmed to be 19-year-old Tian Zeming, a migrant worker from southwest China’s Chongqing. He is reported to be in stable conditions.

Tian told rescuers that one of his coworkers remains trapped under deep rubble, but no sign of life had been detected near the site where Tian had been discovered.

The number of missing people in a massive landslide in south China’s Shenzhen City has dropped to 76, as some who were previously reported missing have been contacted, according to authorities on Tuesday afternoon.

Those who remain missing include 51 males and 25 females, said Liu at a press conference.

More than 4,000 rescuers had joined the rescue efforts as of Tuesday morning, he added. (CCTV)
