(Eagle News)–“Onyok” has intensified into a tropical storm, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
In its recent advisory, PAGASA said as of 10 a.m., the center of Tropical Storm “Onyok” was estimated 870 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 1,105 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
It is moving west northwest at 35 kph.
Although “Onyok” is less likely to make landfall in the country, it may intensify into a Severe Tropical Storm within 24 hours.
Between today and tomorrow morning, PAGASA said the trough of “Onyok” will bring scattered light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas.
