(Eagle News)–The Office of the Solicitor General has asked the Supreme Court for a 60-day extension for the government to comply with the High Court’s ordered submission of documents pertaining to the war on drugs.
The OSG made the request to extend the deadline from April 26, 2018 to June 25, 2018, even if it submitted over 20 case folders in compliance with the SC April 3 directive.
The directive stemmed from the two petitions filed before the High Court that questioned the constitutionality of the government’s war on drugs.
“The respondents need additional time to submit the other documents required by the court because said documents will still be collected and validated,” the OSG said.
Among the over 20 case folders submitted were those on the deaths of Rex Appari, Jomar Manaois, Ryan Dave Almora, among others.
