PAGASA monitoring LPA off Catanduanes

(Eagle News) — The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring a low pressure area off Catanduanes.

PAGASA said the LPA was so far located 735 kilometers east of Virac.

The weather bureau said the shear line was also affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas, and the northeast monsoon Northern and Central Luzon.

As a result, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Quezon, and the northern portion of Cebu will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains are possible.

Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora, meanwhile, will have cloudy skies with light rains.

Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

According to the weather bureau, Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
