(Eagle News) — Tropical Depression “Ambo” may intensify into a tropical storm on Thursday, May 14, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
According to PAGASA’s Ariel Rojas, if Ambo’s northwest direction continues, by then, it will be located 260 kilometers east of Legazpi City and may make landfall in the Bicol area.
PAGASA said as of 3 a.m. today, “Ambo” is located 385 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, and gustiness of 55 kilometers per hour.
The weather disturbance has so far slowed down to a speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA said cloudy skies and isolated rainshowers are expected today in Mindanao due to the trough of the tropical depression.
