PAGASA: Tropical depression monitored near Mindanao to enter PAR tonight or tomorrow

(Eagle News)—The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

In its latest weather update, PAGASA said the center of the tropical depression was so far located 1595 kilometers east of Mindanao, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA said the weather disturbance was expected to enter PAR tonight or tomorrow and will be named “Chedeng.”

So far, cloudy skies with light rains are expected over Ilocos Region, Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands due to the northeast monsoon.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers are expected over Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Aurora and Quezon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
