Monreal: Xiamen Air liability due to NAIA mishap now at P33 million

(Eagle News) — The liability of Xiamen Air has ballooned to P33 million. This is according to  Manila International Airport Authority general manager Ed Monreal, who spoke during Wednesday’s hearing conducted by the Senate committee on public services on the incident. According to Monreal, the figure represents the cost of removing Xiamen Air flight MF8667 from Runway 06/24. The plane skidded off the runway on Aug. 16, prompting flight cancellations. PARIS, France (AFP) — Bumblebees acquire a taste for food laced with a pesticide known to harm them, according to a study suggesting the chemicals pose an even greater threat to pollinators than previously thought.
