WHO warns against blood donors from Zika affected countries

The World Health Organization warned those that traveled to the countries affected by the Zika virus to donate blood. WHO added that this is a precaution as it is still not clear how said virus is acquired. At present, 26 countries in South and Central America, the Carribean and even Europe are affected by the Zika virus. US to build military facilities in the Philippines

The Department of National Defense confirmed that the United States of America will construct five military facilities all over the Philippines under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement. This is after the Supreme Court declared EDCA constitutional. Chosen as sites of said facilities are: Palawan, Cagayan De Oro, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Cebu. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will start “Oplan Baklas” on Tuesday, February 9.
