“Lando” now a tropical depression

The PAGASA lowered “Lando” from tropical storm to the status of tropical depression but warns that the public should still expect strong rains. “Lando” death toll now at 18

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), “Lando” left 18 confirmed deaths as its rampage continues. The NDRRMC added that 16 were injured while one is missing. “Lando” caused agricultural damage worth Php 5.9 billion. Earthquake strikes Vanuatu

According to the United States Geological Survey, the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu was hit by a magnitude 7.3 earthquake. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center is not expecting any tsunami. Dams continuously release water

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that four major dams in Luzon continue the release of water due to the rain brought by “Lando”. Residents begin rebuilding homes in typhoon-hit Philippines

Residents in the town of Casiguran in northern Aurora province on Wednesday (October 21) began rebuilding their homes and clearing debris from the roads after Typhoon “Lando” tore through the area.
