COMELEC may extend campaign period for 2016 elections

China doesn’t want to include territorial dispute in ASEAN talks

BEIJING, China, August 4 (Eagle News) — According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the coming meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is not the proper forum for the discussion of the territorial dispute in the West Philippine Sea, thus said issue should not be included in the agenda of the said talks. August has two long weekends

MANILA, Philippines, August 4 (Eagle News) — Malacañang reminded the public of two long weekends for the month of August. August 21 marks the celebration of the Ninoy Aquino Day while August 31 marks National Heroes Day. In Quezon City as well as the provinces of Quezon and Aurora will also have a mid-week holiday on August 19, which is Quezon Day.
