Enemy casualties in Mamasapano encounter, hard to confirm

According to the Mayor of Mamasapano, Maguindanao, Datu Benzar Ampatuan, it is hard to confirm that there’s a total of 250 enemy casualties in the encounter with the Philippine National Police – Special Action Force. He further added that when he went to the scene, what he saw was mostly the dead bodies of the members of SAF.

Obama confirms death of Kayla Mueller, aid worker held hostage by ISIS

(Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday confirmed the death of Kayla Mueller, a U.S. aid worker who had been held hostage by Islamic State militants, saying the United States would “find and bring to justice the terrorists who are responsible.” Mueller’s family also said in a statement that they were “heartbroken” to learn of her death and released a copy of a letter she had written in 2014 while in captivity.
