Saudi Arabia beheads Filipino convicted of murder

A Filipino convicted of killing a national of Saudi Arabia was beheaded Friday, according to a report from the Saudi interior ministry. Carlito Lana (spelled as Karlito Nunez Lana in the Saudi Press Agency report) was beheaded on Friday, December 12. The execution was carried out in Riyadh, according to an Agence France Press report. A landslide in Indonesia killed at least seven people, destroyed 105 houses and left 108 people missing, an official said on Saturday (December 13). Shots fired at Israeli embassy in Athens

 Unidentified gunmen opened fire on the Israeli embassy in Athens with a Kalashnikov assault rifle in the early hours of Friday (December 12), police said, but no injuries or serious damage were reported.
