Injured civilians in Bukidnon bus explosion rushed to the nearest hospital

More than 20 persons were injured in a bus blast in Maramag, Bukidnon. The bus was carrying several students, teachers and other civilians.  Eleven persons were killed in the blast. At least 11 persons were killed in a bus explosion in Maramag, Bukidnon on Tuesday, Dec, 9.  Authorities said more than 20 people had been injured in a blast that occurred around 5:30 on Dec. 9, in front of the main gate of the Central Mindanao University in University Town, Musuan, Maramag, Bukidnon.  The bus was on its way to Cagayan de Oro City. Typhoon Ruby’s path crossed the province of Quezon, leaving on its wake a scene of devastation as homes were destroyed, roads blocked by debris and rivers overflowed, forcing the residents of said province to leave their home amid strong rains to search for safety.

8 killed in Bukidnon bus explosion

(Eagle News Service) — At least eight persons were killed when a bus exploded in front of a University in Maramag, Bukidnon. According to initial reports from our Bukidnon Eagle News correspondent, Rica Cabe, the blast happened at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 9. The bus was carrying several students, teachers and other passengers who were going to Cagayan de Oro. Authorities are still investigating the incident.

UN World Food Program extends help to typhoon victims

According to the United Nations World Food Program Country Director Praveen Agrawal, said organization will distribute food, trucks and even satellite phones to help those who were affected by the typhoon. Agrawal added that they are waiting for the coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to deliver said supplies to eastern Visayas and Bicol. Typhoon impact on agriculture

Compared to “Yolanda”, the impact of “Ruby” on the country’s agriculture is less damaging. According to Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala, the total cost of damages and production losses in harvests and infrastructure amount to 1.2 billion pesos. Said damage include 55, 000 hectares of agricultural land in the Bicol region, Western Visayas and Eastern Visayas. A major factor in the comparatively lesser damaged caused by “Ruby” was that farmers have already harvested their fields.
