Ruby retains strength, crawls towards Luzon

After slightly weakening earlier this morning, Ruby has maintained its strength and slow upward movement towards Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 140kph and gustiness of up to 170kph. The province of Aklan experienced the wrath of “Ruby” bringing strong rains and winds as well as huge waves in the coastal areas causing residents in said areas to evacuate.

‘Ruby’ leaves at least 3 dead in Visayas

Although relatively weak compared to Typhoon Yolanda, ‘Ruby’ (Hagupit) wrecked havoc through the Visayas region which has left at least three people dead and over a million others affected according to various initial reports.
