MMDA suspends number coding
MANILA, Sept. 19 (PNA) — Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) suspended Friday the number coding for motorists, except in Makati and Las Pinas due to flooded streets brought about by Tropical Storm “Mario.” Under the traffic scheme, vehicles with plate numbers ending in 0 and 9 are not allowed to travel around the metropolis on Fridays. ‘Starter kits’ distributed to Mayon evacuees

PCG on heightened alert

Marikina asks for more rubber boats
The PIO of Marikina is asking owners of rubber boats to coordinate with Rescue 161 for deployment after Marikina River reached 19.5 meters. Marikina River has been placed under Alert level 4 when it reached the 18 meter critical water level earlier at around 6:30 a.m. Friday. All evacuation centers in Marikina are fully occupied.

Court suspends work due to heavy rains
Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio suspends work in courts under the red rainfall alert. This includes the Regional Trial Courts in Metro Manila, Rizal and Bulacan. Work is also suspended in the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, the Sandiganbayan and the Court of Tax Appeals.
