Dragon Boat Team bags 2 gold medals in Italy

The Philippine Dragon Boat Team bagged two gold medals in the 9th International Dragon Boat Federation World Championship held at Ravenna, Italy. Said gold medals are in the 200 premiere open and the 500 premiere open in the small boat category which was participated in by 29 countries. According to Lt. Col Harold Cabunoc, their toughest competition came from Germany, UAE and Netherlands. Cabunoc lead the Philippine Army team which is composed of 18 soldiers.

House Speaker Belmonte on Congresswoman Arroyo

In the Resolution issued by the 4th Division of the Anti-Graft Court, Belmonte was given 10 days to explain why he did not take action on the suspension order issued against Arroyo. The Sandiganbayan also ordered Belmonte to implement the 90-day suspension order against Arroyo. The suspension order was issued last June 26.

Vice President Binay, asked to attend Senate probe

The Senate has invited Vice President Jejomar Binay to give details regarding the probe on the alleged over-pricing of the Makati parking building. In a letter dated September 11, Senator Koko Pimentel asked VP Binay to explain or give details regarding the overpriced building.
