(Eagle News)–The Palace on Monday, Sept. 25, allayed fears President Rodrigo Duterte was sick, saying he underwent colonoscopy and endoscopy as part of “routine.”
“To him it was so routine na he had no qualms telling everyone, the whole world that he he had it. I think human nature naman ‘yan. It was no big deal to disclose it,” Roque said in a press briefing.
According to Roque, if the President were seriously ill, he would inform the public, and would not stay as President.
“Kung seryoso po ‘yan hindi naman aaminin ni Presidente,” Roque said.
President Duterte admitted to undergoing the tests before medical specialists in Lapu Lapu City on Friday.
The Palace issued a statement on the President’s admission soon after he made the speech.
