(Eagle News) — The Palace has designated an officer in charge in the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Appointed was Social Welfare Undersecretary Emmanuel Leyco.
Layco’s appointment comes after Judy Taguiwalo was rejected as social welfare secretary by the powerful Commission on Appointments.
Taguiwalo is the third Cabinet official appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte who was rejected by the CA.
First was Perfecto Yasay and then Gina Lopez as secretaries of foreign affairs and of the environment, respectively.
