(Eagle News)—-The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency will have to secure clearance from President Rodrigo Duterte before it can release the list of “celebrities” allegedly linked to illegal drugs.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo made the statement, after PDEA revealed at least 31 “celebrities” were included in the agency’s drugs watch list.
PDEA director-general Aaron Aquino had said two “celebrities” figured in the phone of alleged party drugs dealer Steven Pasion, who was killed during a buy-bust operation led by operatives of the PDEA National Capital Region office and the Manila Police’s Drug Enforcement Unit in Sta. Cruz Manila on March 11.
PDEA Special Enforcement Services Acting Director Levi Ortiz had said one of the two ordered 200 ecstasy pills from Pasion, based on text messages.
Ortiz had said it was unclear if the order was for distribution or for personal consumption.
Upon his assumption of office, Duterte released a list of former and current high-ranking police officials allegedly engaged in illegal drug activities.
Only recently, he revealed 46 names of politicians in his narco-list which he said had already been validated.
