(Eagle News) — The Palace on Tuesday said President Rodrigo Duterte was against a no-election scenario in 2019.
“He reiterated he is against ‘no-el’. He wants to push through with the elections in 2019 and has committed to give us the most honest and the most credible elections in 2019,” Roque said.
Roque said that the elections could only be postponed if the Constitution was amended and it was ratified before 2019.
It was House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez who floated the possibility of a no-election scenario.
But Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III dismissed this.
