Palace says it respects PET decision on ballot-shading threshold issue, use of decrypted ballot images

(Eagle News)–The Palace on Wednesday, Sept. 26, said it respects the decision of the Presidential Electoral Tribunal on the ballot-shading threshold row between former Senator Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Leni Robredo.

” We will implement the decision of the PET that is why we let the PET do its job,” Roque said in a television interview.

In a resolution, the PET rejected the 50 percent ballot-shading threshold pushed for by Marcos.

Marcos’ camp has said, however, that it would seek a clarification on the PET ruling, which Robredo has claimed to be a victory.

The PET also dismissed Marcos’ opposition to the use of decrypted ballot images, saying their “probative value” has already been upheld in a previous case.
