Palace says suspended Overall Deputy Ombudsman Carandang has right to seek legal remedies

But we stand by the suspension order against him, Presidential Spokesperson Roque says

(Eagle News) — Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque on Tuesday said that suspended Over-all Deputy Ombudsman Melchor Arthur Carandang can avail of all legal remedies to counter the suspension order handed out by the Office of the Executive Secretary.

After all, Roque said that appealing was part of the legal process if an adverse decision was made.

“The OES, however, stands by its decision to formally charge and suspend Overall Deputy Ombudsman Carandang, pursuant to the President’s broad powers to discipline all non-impeachable presidential appointees,” Roque added.

Carandang was preventively suspended for 90 days after he reportedly leaked the bank accounts used by Senator  Antonio Trillanes IV in his alleged exposé into the supposed hidden wealth of President Rodrigo Duterte.
