Palace suspends work in gov’t offices near PICC complex

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Malacañang announced there will be a suspension of work in the government agencies and satellite offices inside the Philippine International Convention Center complex in connection with the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit that will be held in the country.

The suspension started today, November 8, and will last until November 15.

Government agencies and offices involved in the 31st ASEAN Summit preparation are not included in the work suspension.

“To ensure uninterrupted delivery of public service on 08-12 November 2017, transactions with front line government offices, located inside the PICC Complex, may be processed in other business and/or satellite offices of said agencies,” the order stated.

Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte declared November 13 to 15 (Monday to Wednesday) as special non-working days in Metro Manila, Bulacan, and Pampanga.

Also, Metro Manila mayors suspended classes at all levels in the National Capital Region (NCR) on November 16 and 17.
