(Eagle News) — The Palace on Sunday, Aug. 19, thanked the members of the Consultative Commission “for completing its task of studying and reviewing the provisions of the 1987 Constitution.”
“Drafting a new Constitution is no easy task but it has been done and accomplished,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said a day after the Con-Com completed its final en banc session.
According to Roque, “it is now up to Congress to do its part in finalizing the mode of revising our Constitution. ”
“Good job to the Con-com,” he said.
It was President Rodrigo Duterte who created the Con-Com after his assumption of office so that the body could make proposals to change the Charter under a federal system of government.
In July, the Con-Com released its final draft federal Constitution.
