(Eagle News) — To save money, President Rodrigo Duterte will take an eight-seater plane to travel to Singapore where he is slated to attend the 32nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.
“It’s expensive to charter a plane, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said.
He added a “leaner delegation would mean lesser cost for the taxpayer,” with the President to be accompanied by Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, among others.
The ASEAN Summit will take place from April 27 to 28.
In a press conference on Friday, April 20, Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Maria Helen Dela Vega said the President would “address issues that are close to his heart..”
Terrorism, extremist violence are some of the issues to be discussed.
