(Eagle News) — The narco-list of candidates allegedly engaged in drug-related activities may be released by Interior Secretary Eduardo Año next week.
This is according to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, who gave a radio interview on Tuesday, March 5.
According to Panelo, the plan was to release the list and file administrative and criminal charges against those on the list at the same time.
“Sabi ni Secretary Año , inihahanda na yung mga ififile na kaso,” Panelo said.
Panelo reiterated the need to release the list to ensure the right to know of members of the public, who are slated to vote in the elections in May.
“Ano ba mahalaga? Karapatan ng mga kandidato? When you’re running, you expose yourself to fair game…Mga tao have the right to be informed,” Panelo said.
